• Our favourite challenge is to bring each traveller in touch with their dreams

Tailor made travel for small private groups is our greatest specialty. The more you can tell us who you are and what interests and objectives you have, the better we can help you plan an unforgettable travel experience.

Here are examples of trips that we loved to produce as much as the travellers loved to live them…

A top Mexican business leader was referred to Matueté by a friend and gave us the most exciting travel brief possible:  Design me the most unforgettable Brazil experience you can imagine for my family of 10 people who were travelling in their private jet into the country.

The trip started off with the charter of the best private yacht availaibe in the Amazon, with one of Brazil’s top Chef’s on board as well as superb Naturalist guides.  From their, we headed for a day trip to Iguaçu falls and then a Private farm in the Pantanal where we arranged a special air safari.  In Rio de Janeiro, the family closed off an entire floor of one of Rio’s top hotels before finishing the trip in style in one of the Angra dos Reis villas.

A week before the trip, the client called us up and asked us if he could bring an extra 10 people.

Did we pull it off? Yes!  And are expecting the client back for next Carnaval…

A North American family gave us a very interesting brief:  they wanted to visit the most scenic places in Brazil but wanted to really get under the skin of some of Brazil’s major cities.  They had a special interest in Contemporary Art, Afro Brazilian culture and wanted to get to know some examples of Social projects with an Arts focus around the country.

We designed a trip for them that included Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, São Paulo, Brasilia, Paraty and Fernando de Noronha island.  In Rio, her guide was a History of Arts Professor at the local University and they ventured into Rio’s favela’s to visit the Morrinho Project.  Throghout the trip, we introduced them to Art Collectors and had meals in special places.   The trip ended in style in the beautiful island of Fernando de Noronha.

A group of women friends – some from Switzerland and some from Brazil asked us to design a week long ‘health-week’  where they would all travel together, away from their families. The main objective was to take care of the body and soul.  They wanted something truly special and didn’t want the normal ‘spa experience’.

We designed a 5 day trek along the beaches of Bahia, in the beautiful region where the Portuguese first arrived in Brazil and which finished off for days of total relaxation in Trancoso.   A yoga instructor led the ladies for walks of between 2 and 5 hours per day, special picknicks and massage sessions.

The experience was so great that ever since, we hold one trip per year for the same group.

A US gentleman approached us with an incredible challenge:  he was 86 years old and blind and asked us to design a sensorial journey around the country for himself and a friend.

We took them to Rio de Janeiro, Tiradentes in Minas Gerais and the Pantanal.

In Rio de Janeiro, the sounds of the bustling street fair, the gentle Sunday promenade along Ipanema beach.  In Tiradentes, a historic and quaint little village the opportunity to learn about Brazil’s gold rush, and exchange experiences with fellow blind artists.  And in the Pantanal, an overwhelming wake-up reception  courtesy of the thousands of birds and an unforgettable horse riding experience.
