CONCEPT
This itinerary was designed to give adventurous travellers a good overview of the Northern wonders of Brazil, the changing landscapes ranging from rainforest to desert, and from dense cityscape to virgin seascape. This is a cross-country trip in the north of Brazil.
LOCATIONS VISITED
Arrive in São Paulo, head to Belém on day 2, then 5 days onboard a private cruise in the Rio Tapajós region of the Amazon; follow on to explore the crystalline lagoons in the Lençóis Maranhenses and finish off by relaxing in picturesque Jericoacoara.
A one day stopover in São Paulo and a chance to recover from a long international flight.
Fly to Belém and explore the most interesting large city in the Amazon.
Fly to Santarém where you will board a private yacht and the adventures begins. In a relatively small distance, you will explore three completely different ecosystems and have a chance to visit remote communities, trek in the forest to places of primary jungle and giant trees and enjoy some of the most amazing virgin beaches anywhere in the world.
After your private cruise, fly to São Luis from where the expedition to Lençóis Maranhenses, one of the wildest and lesser known regions of Brazil. This is a unique landscape in the world – a sand dune dessert with thousands of fresh water lagoons.
After an exhilarating adventure, fly on a private plane to Jericoacoara where you can relax for a few days in one of the most beautiful beaches of Brazil.
Finish the trip in style in Rio de Janeiro before returning home. This is one of our very favourite trips!
